The Global Initiative for Food Systems Leadership is pleased to announce the availability of three $1750 scholarships to support participation in the Engaging Intergovernmental Organizations program scheduled March 3 – March 9, 2012.
The goal of the scholarships is to provide financial assistance to participants who have limited resources but additional consideration will be given to applicants from developing countries or early in their careers in government, academia, or industry. All applicants should make the case in the statement of interest their interest in global leadership in food systems and animal/public health.
The application deadline is December 16, 2011. Awardees will be notified by January 6, 2012 and will have two weeks in which to make the remainder of their tuition payment in order to participate in the program. Applicants are asked to submit a statement of interest outlining how participation in this program will benefit their development as a leader within global food systems including animal health, public health and food safety.

This short course will help expand your network among key global leaders and provide you with new skills for effectively engaging intergovernmental organizations. This week?long intensive professional development program is designed to providemid? and senior level government officials, industry leaders and academic faculty the opportunity to interact more effectively with Intergovernmental Organizations (IGO). Participants will draw on current scientific knowledge and their own experiences in government, industry and academia as they explore the development and implementation of recommendations for international standards and policy.
