>> download announcement

This will be a common workshop for residents of the ECBHM and ECVPH.

Population medicine is a relevant topic for both training programs, and residents from the two colleges can profit from the respective specialty knowledge.

This workshop will offer a training opportunity using the know-how from specialists in both fields. We expect residents from the ECBHM to share their clinical experience, and residents of the ECVPH to share their knowledge on data management and biostatistics.

Learning objectives: After completion of the workshop, participants will be able to extract herd health data from farm records, to critically evaluate data quality, and to define logical rules for identifying implausible records. They will be able to interpret milk control data and reproductive performance data of a herd, and will be familiar with partial budgeting for decision making regarding herd health based on economical considerations.

Speakers: ECVPH and ECBHM advanced residents & diplomates from the Vetsuisse Faculty of the University of Berne, Switzerland, as well as Prof. Henk Hogeveen from Wageningen UR, The Netherlands, as a guest lecturer for the economics module.

Participants: Up to 40 participants (priority given to residents of both colleges).

A detailed program will be provided in advance of the workshop.
